Waterloo & South Bank: Community Space Strategy - Residents Survey

​Help us shape future community spaces in Waterloo and South Bank

We are working to better understand current and future community space needs across Waterloo and South Bank.

In this context, community spaces refer to the buildings and spaces that support community life, such as community centres, libraries, health centres, youth facilities, advice centres and other places where people meet, learn, access support and take part in activities.

Community spaces are separate from community services and activities, which are the programmes, events and support provided within these spaces, such as training courses, advice services, cultural activities, community events and support groups.

We are interested in understanding both the spaces people use and the activities and services that take place within them.

As Waterloo and South Bank continues to grow, we want to understand how local residents and others use community spaces today, whether the existing facilities meet people's needs, and what opportunities there may be to improve provision in the future.

This survey asks about:

• The community spaces you use (or would like to use)
• How often you use them and how you travel to them
• The activities and services you access
• Any barriers you experience
• What facilities, activities or services you feel are missing

The information collected will be used alongside demographic analysis, mapping of existing community infrastructure, and engagement with local organisations and stakeholders to help identify current and future community space needs across the area.

The findings will help inform future planning and investment in community spaces and services across Waterloo and South Bank.

All responses will be analysed anonymously and reported in summary form only.
