William Bonney Estate
Survey open until 11th November
The Soak Up Lambeth programme aims to reduce flood risk for Lambeth residents and businesses by installing sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) around the borough. SuDS features like rain gardens or swales can:
- reduce flood risk
- reduce pollution
- support biodiversity
- cool the local area during heatwaves
- provide opportunities for incidental and natural play
William Bonney Estate has been selected as part of this programme. Take the survey to have your say on the proposals!
We recommend taking the survey on a laptop or large screen if you can because it'll be easier to see the proposals. Alternatively, you can download them in high resolution below (William Bonney SuDS Proposals October 2024.pdf)
Phases
First round of consultation
Our engineers, landscape architects and SuDS specialists have explored William Bonney Estate to find the opportunities and constraints for installing rain gardens. The results of this site investigation can be found in the attached diagram. We would like to hear your thoughts on the project to install SuDS on William Bonney Estate and your ideas of where a rain garden could go or what it might look like.
We ran a drop-in session on Wednesday 18th September to hear from residents of the estate and surroundings. Thank you to all those who came to chat to us - it was great to hear your ideas and concerns. We will summarise what we were told both at the event and in the comments on this page and publish it here, and the design team will use those comments to inform next steps.
