William Bonney Estate
Survey open until 11th November
The Soak Up Lambeth programme aims to reduce flood risk for Lambeth residents and businesses by installing sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) around the borough. SuDS features like rain gardens or swales can:
- reduce flood risk
- reduce pollution
- support biodiversity
- cool the local area during heatwaves
- provide opportunities for incidental and natural play
William Bonney Estate has been selected as part of this programme. Take the survey to have your say on the proposals!
We recommend taking the survey on a laptop or large screen if you can because it'll be easier to see the proposals. Alternatively, you can download them in high resolution below (William Bonney SuDS Proposals October 2024.pdf)
Phases
Site investigation
William Bonney Estate has been identified as a promising location for sustainable drainage systems (SuDS). These will be designed to capture rainwater which falls on the estate, managing flood risk in the local area and elsewhere by reducing the amount of surface water flowing into the sewer system. We have conducted an initial site visit with the landscape architects and civil engineer selected to design the scheme, and they will now look at the feasibility of SuDS features at different locations around the estate. Once they have come up with a few options, we will share them on this site and at in-person drop-in sessions to gather feedback. Residents' feedback from this round of consultation will inform the next phase of design.
