Tulse Hill West Area - Healthy Streets & Parking Controls (Proposed Brixton Hill 'F' CPZ extension - Palace Road)

What are we proposing?

We are proposing to make some changes to the kerbside (the space typically used for car parking) in the Tulse Hill West area. We’re looking to introduce parking controls to manage vehicle access to the kerbside and also healthy streets improvements to make it easier for people to walk, wheel or cycle.

As part of this we are proposing to extend the Brixton Hill 'F' CPZ into the public highway areas of High Trees. The CPZ extension would operate between Noon and 2pm, Mondays to Fridays.

Please complete and submit your views by completing this questionnaire by the consultation closing date of 28 March 2025.

Please note that this consultation is for properties within the consultation area for the proposed Brixton Hill 'F' CPZ extension into part of Palace Road (between Daysbrook Road and Coberg Crescent). Please check the drawings on the Council's website to check whether your property falls within the consultation area for this proposal.

Stage 1 Consultation

28 February 2025 - 30 March 2025

What are we proposing?

We are proposing to make some changes to the kerbside (the space typically used for car parking) in the Tulse Hill West area.

Our Kerbside Strategy has the commitment to make 25% of our kerbside sustainable by 2030. Transport emissions are responsible for nearly 25% of carbon emissions in Lambeth, despite that 60% of households in Lambeth do not own a car. One of the ways that we can incentivise more active and sustainable travel is through allocating more of our kerbside space to sustainable uses.

‘Free unrestricted parking’ comes at a cost to everyone in terms of public health and the impact on our climate. The proposed changes would allow reasonable kerbside access for local residents who drive, and better support our many residents who don’t own a car and who travel by walking, wheeling or public transport.

You can find out more about the proposed changes in the attached leaflet.

Please give us your views on these issues by responding to the survey. The responses will help us to further develop the proposals to ensure they address local needs.
