Street trading consultations

Have your say about new licences for tables, chairs and other furniture on street.

When businesses such as cafes want to place furniture such as tables and chairs on the pavement they need to have a licence from the council to do so.

When they apply we ask neighbours, residents and partner agencies such as the police and fire brigade if they foresee any problems with the proposals. These comments help us to keep the streets clear of dangerous obstructions.

Consultations last for 14 days after the application and must be displayed by the business. After the consultation has ended the council has 14 days to grant or reject the licence.
