The Soak Up Lambeth programme aims to reduce flood risk for Lambeth residents and businesses by installing sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) around the borough. SuDS features like rain gardens or swales can:

  • reduce flood risk
  • reduce pollution
  • support biodiversity
  • cool the local area during heatwaves
  • provide opportunities for incidental and natural play

St. Alphonsus Estate has been selected as part of this programme. Take the survey to have your say on the proposals!

We recommend taking the survey on a laptop or large screen if you can because it'll be easier to see the proposals. Alternatively, you can download them in high resolution below (St. Alphonsus SuDS Proposals October 2024.pdf)

Our engineers, landscape architect and SuDS specialists have explored St Alphonsus to find the opportunities and constraints for installing rain gardens. The results of this site investigation can be found in the attached diagram. We would like to hear your thoughts on the project to install SuDS on St Alphonsus Estate - have your say here or at our drop-in session on the estate on 18th September.
