Site Allocations Development Plan Document (SADPD) Main Modifications consultation

Proposal
On 31 October 2024, the council submitted the Site Allocations Development Plan Document (SADPD) to the Secretary of State for examination. Public hearings were held as part of the examination in February and March 2025.
The council is now consulting on proposed ‘main modifications’ to the SADPD. These are modifications to the submission version of the plan that are considered necessary to ensure the plan is sound and legally compliant. The council has also produced an addendum to the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) to assess the impacts of these proposed modifications
Comments are invited on whether the proposed ‘main modifications’ will ensure that the plan is sound and legally compliant. All representations on the ‘main modifications’ received as part of this consultation will be considered by the Inspector of the plan. The Inspector will then produce a final report on the SADPD, including recommendations about which modifications should be adopted. The modifications can be found in the 'Schedule of Main Modifications' document which can be downloaded below. The 'SADPD Main Mods Version Tracked Changes' document shows the modifications in the context of the proposed submission version of the plan.
A schedule of ‘additional modifications’ has also been produced and is published alongside this consultation. These are minor changes proposed by the council that are not considered to have an effect on the soundness or legal compliance of the SADPD, and are published for information purposes only.
The consultation period is open for eight weeks between Monday 1 September 2025 and Monday 27 October 2025.

Hard copies of the form for making representations are also available in these locations.
