Prescott Place Reimagined Timeline
Lambeth Council aims to enhance Prescott Place, creating a destination that supports local businesses and provides space for people to meet, relax, and travel actively. We seek to celebrate local history and champion inclusivity, creativity, and accessibility.
What are Re-Imagined Streets?
Across the borough, we have identified streets where the community comes together. Residents and businesses have shared that there is potential to make these spaces safer for walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling and more enjoyable for everyone.
Each of these spaces is unique, and our improvements—incorporating feedback from the local community and businesses—will reflect this uniqueness.
How can I share my views?

Phases
Reimagined Street Design
Lambeth Council is asking for feedback on designs for a Prescott Place Reimagined. The consultation closes on 9 June. Take the Survey
The design phase runs until August, with three weeks of public engagement. The remaining time allows for feedback to be analysed and incorporated into the final design.
Designing Prescott Place Reimagined
When designing Reimagined Street improvements, we look at pre-trial data, the Equalities Impact Report, and feedback from the community.
Taking on board the views of residents, businesses and community groups help us understand how people use the street.
We focus on real experiences—like the routes people prefer to cycle, places where they've felt at risk from cars, or where they've seen unsafe driving. We also look at areas that feel unsafe at night or spots where older people struggle with cluttered pavements or need more time to cross.
For businesses, we think about delivery times, customer access, and ways to make it easier for people to walk, wheel, scoot, or cycle to them.
We consider feedback from protected groups, like members of the LGBTQ community, disabled people, and young families, to understand what they need to ensure they feel included and can travel through the area easily and confidently.
By taking all these insights into account, we develop a design which we believe best meets the Prescott Place Reimagined goals and the community’s unique needs.
Design Report and engagement
We use everything we discovered in the previous stages to create a Design Report.
The Design Report explains what we've learnt and how that's helped shape the Prescott Place Reimagined trial. We will publish this report and reach out to the local community and key groups for feedback. These comments will help us determine if the plan meets the goals of the trial and addresses the community's needs.
Final Design and Decision Report
We take in the comments and feedback to our design report and make changes where needed, producing the final design that will be implemented as the Prescott Place Re-Imagined trial.
This design will be made public through a Decision Report and published online on the council's website.
