Phases 1 & 2

1 January 2022 - 31 December 2023

Phase 1: Clapham to Herne Hill

The first 3 kilometre section of the Cycleway 48 Healthy Route connects Clapham High Street and Herne Hill, mostly along quiet streets within the Ferndale and Railton Low Traffic Neighbourhoods. Dedicated cycle signals provide a means of crossing Brixton Road between Atlantic Road and Ferndale Road.

Phase 2: Brockwell Park to Norwood Road

In November 2020, Lambeth installed a temporary cycle lane on part of Rosendale Road as part of Phase 2 of the Healthy Route, which also forms part of the Gipsy Hill to Brockwell Park Healthy Route. In addition, LB Southwark has implemented a Low Traffic Neighbourhood in Dulwich which you can read more about here to enable safe and pleasant walking and cycling trips along the route.

Lambeth installed new protected cycling facilities on Norwood Road (mandatory cycle lanes with traffic separator posts) between Croxted Road and Brockwell Park Gardens, creating separation between cyclists and vehicles.
