OurBike
Lambeth is home to 10 e-cargo bikes that can be hired by the hour.
E-cargo bikes can be used for midrange journeys that you might usually need a car for like taking your children to school, the weekly shopping trip or deliveries for businesses.
Lambeth Council is giving all new resident sign-ups 60 minutes free use and all new business sign ups 180 minutes free. After you have used your free minutes it costs just £5 per hour, this is subsidised by the council to encourage users to switch their methods of travel.
To use the bike you must download the app either via Google Play or the App Store.

Temporary Fleet Closure: 22–28 September
To prepare for the launch of our updated OurBike app and deliver a smoother, more secure experience to users, we will be temporarily closing the entire OurBike fleet from 22 to 28 September.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause to the service, but this short pause is essential to get all 56 live bikes upgraded, tested, and ready to relaunch with the new app the following week.
During this period, we will:
- Install a brand-new locking system across the fleet
- Apply updated branding to match the new app
- Conduct full app and hardware testing to ensure reliability
We will send advanced communications to all users next week about this closure. All bookings made during this window will be cancelled and automatically refunded.
New App Launch: 2 October
We’re excited to confirm the launch of our refreshed OurBike app, going live on 2 October.
The new app introduces a range of features designed to improve usability, increase compliance, and open up new community engagement opportunities.
New features include:
- A faster, more stable and user-friendly interface
- In-app navigation to help users locate their nearest or booked bike
- Mandatory educational video content before first use and always available in app
- Geofencing tools to promote parking compliance and reduce risk of misparking
- The launch of a new OurBike service model for the fleet (more to come in the weeks ahead)
- And a bonus… a new and improved website!
