What are we proposing?

What are we proposing?

16 June 2025 - 14 July 2025

We are proposing to introduce parking controls into Forster Road and Tilson Road as an extension of the existing Brixton Hill “D” Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and would like to know your views.

Why are we proposing this?

The Brixton Hill "D" Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) was introduced in October 2017. At that time, due to a lack of support and, following discussions with local Ward Councillors, it was agreed not to include both Forster Road and Tilson Gardens in the new CPZ. However, we have continued to receive complaints about parking difficulties since this date. As an extension to the existing Brixton Hill “D” CPZ, it is proposed that parking in Forster Road and Tilson Gardens would be controlled Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 6.30pm. We are not offering any other hours of operation at this time.

You can read more about the proposals in the attached leaflet which also includes a scheme plan. For information on current permit costs and other parking topics, including permit eligibility and how to apply for a permit, please visit the council website at http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/bhe-hspc

How can I give my views?

Online

The quickest and easiest way to submit your views is to complete the online survey using the URL: haveyoursay.lambeth.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/forster-and-tilson-brixton-hill-zone-d-proposed-controlled-parking-zone-cpz-extension

Please complete and submit your views by the consultation closing date of 14 July 2025. Please note, only one submission will be accepted per household.

Post

If you’re not able to get online, you can request a paper version of the questionnaire, plan showing proposals in your immediate area, and information on permit costs, by calling 020 7926 6799. Please mention Forster/Tilson when you leave your message.

We regret that due to the number of responses received during public consultation it will not be possible to individually reply to each respondent. We welcome your comments on this proposal, which will be noted and included within the proposed measures where appropriate

What happens next?

The survey results will help us to develop the proposals. If change is indeed supported, we will make recommendations in a report to the Cabinet Member for Sustainable Lambeth and Clean Air that we should move to carrying out formal statutory consultation. We will write back to you once a decision has been made to advise of the next steps.
