Abbeville Road Car Free Day 17 May 2025

Saturday 17 May 2025 will be a Car Free Day on Abbeville Road ☀️🌸🌳

The Car Free Day will take place from 11AM to 4.30 PM on Saturday 17 May!

The aim of this event is to serve as an opportunity to reimagine Abbeville Road while also serving as a platform for engaging with the local community, businesses, and residents to co-create a vision for a safer, more accessible, and vibrant public space.

Event activities on the day will include:

• Engagement gazebo and information table
• Bubble Entertainer
• Cycle Powered Scalextric
• Bike Market
• Dr Bike
• Games in the street
• Some Abbeville Road businesses will also have tables and chairs outside and extend their normal trade onto the street during the event.

The Car Free Day is organised by Lambeth Council's Big Shift Programme in collaboration with local businesses.

Please note that during the event, there will be no motor vehicle access on Abbeville Road between Hambalt Road and the section of Abbeville Road that is in between Shandon Road and Bonneville Gardens, and motor vehicles will not be able to enter Abbeville Road via Shandon Road or Narbonne Avenue. These restrictions to motor vehicle access will apply from 9AM to approximately 5.30PM on Saturday 17 May.
