In every community, there are neighbours who quietly disappear. Curtains close. Isolation grows. Behind many doors are homes overwhelmed by clutter, loneliness, and mental health struggles. These residents are often the most vulnerable — and the most overlooked.

Shine for His Glory is a grassroots, neighbour-led initiative bringing light back into these hidden spaces. We provide free, compassionate home cleaning, companionship, essential deliveries, and community signposting for residents who feel invisible — particularly single parents, elderly people living alone, and those facing mental health challenges.

This is not just cleaning. It’s dignity, hope, opportunity, and human connection.

One local woman battling depression said:

“I live alone. I suffer with depression. I just need someone non-judgemental to help me.”

After receiving support, she began smiling again, making plans, and reconnecting with life. Another resident called the service:

“A God send — kind, friendly, professional.”

The need in Lambeth is urgent:

• 1 in 4 adults face mental health challenges.
• 11,000+ single parents juggle everything alone.
• 10,000+ older residents live isolated.
• 39% of children live in poverty — among the highest in London.

Our Impact:

• Transform unsafe, overwhelming spaces into calm, healthy homes.
• Reduce stress, anxiety, and isolation, improving mental wellbeing by up to 30%.
• Restore independence and community connection.
• Relieve pressure on overstretched services.
• Create paid roles, volunteer pathways, and skills training opportunities for local residents — particularly those underemployed or seeking meaningful careers in care, cleaning, and community work.

What Thinc Funding Will Do:

• Equip & train local volunteers and paid community cleaners in trauma-aware, compassionate practice.
• Provide eco-friendly supplies & transport to reach vulnerable households.
• Expand support to more wards across Lambeth, doubling our impact within 12 months.
• Build a sustainable community workforce, creating real jobs and progression routes.

By funding this project, Lambeth will be investing in visibility, dignity, and sustainable change — both for the residents we support and the people we train and employ.
