Also around Kings Avenue, SW4 - another long straight road with no speed cameras so it attracts these noisy motorbike riders who seem to enjoy annoying people for attention.

It is a serious problem on Kennington Road as cars and motorbikes have a long, straight run. I live off Kennington Road and some of the bikes I can still hear when they must be as far up as Lambeth North Tube Station. I feel sorry for those who actually live on the road, particularly at night.

We back on to Christchurch Road and have this problem. There is a strong case to ban high performance motorcycles in London.

It’s so common along Cavendish Road and Balham Hill too. All times of day and night. You’d only have to stand on of these roads for 5 minutes to notice someone with a clearly illegally modified exhaust.
Neither the council, TFL or police seem to want to take responsibility for it. These bikers are selfish and have no regard for people’s safety (speeding) or civil sense (noise particularly at night).
3 easy solutions:
Average speed should be implemented on all red routes to stop bikers simply slowing down for the cameras and speeding up again.
Noise cameras installed to catch and fine people, with stricter noise limits during the night.
More regular and randomised police checks of bikes

Its a problem all over London. The backfire/popping from tuned cars and motorcycles are annoying. Nothing seems to be done about it.

There seem to be motorcycles with their silencers removed regularly roaring up Landor rd. sw9. The noise is so loud it sometimes sets car alarms off!

@Landor rd resident Stockwell Robsart Street too. I notice one of the main offenders has no registration plate. Not sure how this hasn't been picked up by the police.

@Richard Ellis yep… that’s why one of my solutions is more regular stop and check enforcements by the police. It would easy enough for them to do this at most traffic lights

Thanks for the post.
Effra Road | Mervan Road | St Mathew's Church traffic lights - some bikers:
* Speeding: roar down the road (defo not 20 mph), past Curry's
* Anti-social noise: at the traffic lights there, rave their exhausts mega loudly to boast "I can get away with this" One culprit does it regularly just past midnight.
* Pollution: when they are raving their bikes, are they pumping out more pollution?
Please
* Ensure speed camera working by Curry's
* Install CCTV camera by that junction recording also sound level. This junction has been a location of car accidents & crime

For me this is a problem as well especially around the Estate where I live in Vauxhall. these people should be punished as it's against to do at certain times of the day
