Working together to strengthen our communities

Following the successful relaunch of the Community Engagement Group Subgroup on 23 April 2026, we are delighted to invite you to our next meeting.

These sessions will now take place every other month, providing a regular space to connect, learn and work together.

What to Expect

Guest Speaker Session

We will be joined by colleagues from Refuge, the national charity providing specialist support to survivors of domestic abuse. In Lambeth, this includes the GAIA Centre, a local “one stop shop” offering free, confidential and tailored community-based support, alongside services such as Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs).

  • An overview of Refuge and GAIA services
  • How to make referrals
  • A case study
  • Time for questions and discussion

Interactive Group Activity

The second part of each session will focus on collaborative group work to support and shape the work of the Lambeth Safeguarding Adults Board (LSAB).

For this session, we will focus on:

  • Reaching seldom heard groups
  • Raising awareness of domestic abuse
  • Strengthening inclusive support

Why Your Voice Matters

The Community Engagement Group plays a vital role in connecting the Lambeth Safeguarding Adults Board with local communities. Your insight and experience help us to:

  • Meet our statutory duties under the Care Act 2014
  • Deliver the priorities set out in the LSAB Strategic Plan 2026 to 2029

We warmly encourage you to attend and be part of this important work. Your voice and perspective are invaluable, and we look forward to continuing this work together.

Event date: July 9th, 2026 from 14:00 to 15:30.
