This event is the first of what will be a series of events aimed at Reimaging Atlantic Road on the second Saturday of each month until December 2025, and is themed 'Celebrating the Caribbean'.
Organised by Lambeth Council and the Brixton BID, this family-friendly street festival will transform Atlantic Road into a traffic-free zone filled with Caribbean sounds, tastes, and creativity.
We’ve partnered with local cultural organisation Just Vibez to bring you a rich line-up of music, steel pan bands, live performances, and creative workshops for all ages.
Building on the huge success of last year’s car-free days, the series is designed to give people space to eat, explore, connect and create—all while supporting local culture and businesses.
The 49 Brixton Station Road and 6 Canterbury Crescent Project team will have a stall at this Saturday’s event alongside our Street Markets team, close to the intersection of Atlantic Road and Electric Avenue. Come and visit us to hear more about the project, upcoming engagement opportunities and learn how the project is set to support Brixton’s street market. There will also be opportunities to share your views on the street market and hear more about how you can become a local trader.
Please note that during the event, there will be no motor vehicle access on Atlantic Road between Brixton Road and Coldharbour Lane and between Coldharbour Lane and Kellet Road. Buses will also be diverted. These restrictions to motor vehicle access will apply from 8:00AM to approximately 9:00PM on Saturday 14 June.
